Text Box: We’re very pleased to announce that our Community has been received with organizational membership in the following groups:
The American Benedictine Academy, a very well-known and leading assemblage of monastics founded in 1947 to cultivate, support and transmit the Benedictine heritage within contemporary culture.
Benedictines for Peace, a grass-roots collection of monastics and clergy Text Box: that work to promote awareness of peace issues and mobilize others to pray, work and witness for gospel values.
The Evangelical Environmental Network, who seek to educate, inspire, and mobilize Christians in their effort to care for God’s creation, to be faithful stewards of God’s provision, and to advocate for actions and policies that honor God and protect the environment.
Our membership Text Box: in these worthy organizations helps to bind us more fully to our Benedictine charism, it allows us to share more completely our unique heritage as heirs of Little Gidding, it enhances our witness within the body of Christ and provides a framework for ecumenical outreach.
It is God who builds and God who binds us together in fellowship and faith.
	Amen.
Text Box: Membership has its Privileges
Text Box: In January 2008 The Community of Christ the Sower became a registered nonprofit corporation in the state of Alabama.
This move was undertaken on advice of the membership and Text Box: in consultation with legal counsel in anticipation of future growth. This will allow us to engage in fund-raising activities, provide in-kind statements to donors at tax time, qualify for charitable Text Box: status when purchasing necessary items from both religious and secular retailers, and lays the groundwork for 501[c]3 incorporation at a later date, should that become either necessary or advisable.
